How I’m feeling: Well pregnancy-wise I feel fine but I have been crazy sick with a cold for the last 10 days. I am just now really starting to feel better. I have to say it’s probably this pregnancy that has prolonged my cold (side effect of pregnancy right?) Last week was survival mode since not only was I super sick with a cold so was Edith; we were quite the pair all week. She is feeling better now too and I’m hopeful that we will both be back to normal by next week.
Total weight gain: 6 lbs. Yes, this is less than at 7 weeks but between being sick with no appetite (don’t worry I have been getting enough calories) and improving our diet (less bread, pasta, dining out) I lost a few pounds. Really not concerned because I have been eating enough calories just from better food sources (more veggies, fruits, whole grains and lots more water).
Maternity clothes: I found a few pieces yesterday at a consignment shop but honestly I am at the point where my shirts barely cover my growing stomach. I haven’t bought any non-workout maternity tops so I think I might need to get a few things soon.
Sleep: Sleeping has been going alright with the exception of last week but that was all cold related. Also the Bump Nest is insanely wonderful however I battle Edith every night because she loves to use it as a pillow (we co-sleep/sidecar). Seems I need to get one for her and Neil as well.
What’s been going on this week: This week I have been trying to catch up with housework and we have been enjoying the insanely beautiful weather! I also have been getting back to workouts and can’t wait to share those soon. Friday we head to our 20 week ultrasound which is both exciting and nerve-wracking.
Movement: More and more each week! Looking forward to when E and Neil can feel it too.
Food cravings: Gummy candies. Strawberry licorice. Hummus and crackers. Pizza. Salads.
Food aversions: Peanut Butter- yuck.
What I Miss: Having a glass of wine. Clothes that fit.
