Playground // The playground area is brand new! The playground has a slide, a number of swings (traditional, handicap friendly and baby), it also has a climbing structure and a few other play structures most of which are handicap friendly. The playground is fenced in completely on the side closest to the road and is fenced in half way on the sides. The ground is actually made of artificial turf and is spongy.

Other Features // The park has a covered area.

Parking // There is street parking.

Portland Area Parks - Dawson Park - Faux Turf

Pros // big green area; well maintained; good spot for a picnic; good for a range of ages including crawlers because the playground is well spaced and the ground is made of artificial turf and is soft; bathrooms; wide paved paths; handicap accessible; small wall around the playground

Cons // the slide is a bit more challenging to use for those who are not climbers; the playground is not fully fenced in; the park is still under construction

Our thoughts // Edith had an absolute blast at this park. She loved being able to run around and try out all of the different play structures. I wish that it was completely fenced in for peace of mind but at least the part closest to the road is. While the park doesn’t have an extensive amount of play structures there is good diversity the only thing I would like to see is a more toddler friendly slide.

Would we return // YES!
